mv: sunrise
i believe this was d&e's first subunit release after their military discharges. i love the song (one of the first of theirs that i learned the words to) and the mv (love a frolic in the woods). it also features the [english] line, "i like to feel his eyes on me/when i look away/oh say it again," which is apparently a quote from before sunrise, a movie that eunhyuk likes. however. however.........,,.
mv: wings
in keeping with the theme, here's another of their japanese releases, wings. it's one of those pandemic songs, but not quite as painful as some that we've gotten. the key point here is how it's basically made to seem like significant others finally seeing each other after lockdown. totally cool
mv: need u
this one was a special mv that they put out for their 10th anniversary as a subunit. my favorite part of this video is that it 100% starts out like... a song they've written for each other?? "we sing together," "it's been a long road," "i still need you too," etc., and then... they pivot to it being a fan song? it's hilarious.
fancams: house party
ah, yes. the famed wardrobe mishap/wardrobe fix! eunhyuk's lovely necklace gets stuck in his head mic. he and donghae exchange the tiniest of expressions. donghae fixes the necklace. this is possibly the best thing to come out of house party era.
concert: 'bout you
there's a running bit where during one of eunhyuk's verses in 'bout you, donghae (and now literally everyone at a concert) will just shout HYUKJAE. and somehow eunhyuk never seems to expect it? which makes it extra hilarious.

ah, yes. i too show up at my best friend's place of work and play a prank where i [checks notes] pretend i'm going to put my face on their face/kiss them? in front of everyone. it's a classic.

obviously the solution to cold feet on set is to use your best friend's butt as a heater.
the d&e show
d&e show: vaccination
this is one of those absolutely baffling moments where donghae wants to do something but hyukjae is weirdly furtive about it. d&e got their covid vaccines together (romantic!!!) and donghae wants to send the photo of it to the d&e show writer so that they can put it on the screen or something. hyukjae, however, is like, "no, do it later. later." and then tries to change the subject. why??? what???????? baffling.
variety shows
knowing bros: episode 301
d&e (with youngtak and chanwon!) were guests on the 300th and 301st episodes of knowing brothers, as it's apparently tradition for suju to be there for landmark episodes. for this part of the episode, one group was hidden in stalls and had their voices distorted, and the other group had to figure out where one particular person was. eunhyuk guessed donghae based on like two words, and was 2000% sure of it. :')
other reality shows
travelog: jagiya
d&e were sent to bali for the travelog show in what can only be described as a full honeymoon experience. the entire thing is appalling. enjoy this one snippet where they're in a pool with champagne and donghae is like, "i'm mad [they're making us do this romantic stuff]," and eunhyuk just goes, "jagiya!" and sips his champagne.

instagram live: 9th anniversary
this is that one instalive (for their 9th anniversary as a subunit) where eunhyuk recited a modified version of that one quote from goblin at donghae: "because the weather was good, because the weather was bad, because the weather was good enough, i loved every day i spent with you." (the emphasis is for what was added/modified.)
donghae's haru: drive with eunhyuk
INEXPLICABLY FLIRTY. donghae says he's kidnapping eunhyuk. they laugh. the atmosphere is weird. eunhyuk takes a sip of his drink and asks donghae to say it again. donghae says it again. eunyhuk goes, "call!/okay!" in the flirtiest possible voice. i think about this all the time.

hidden track: devil album (aka "i love you, i love you, i love you.")
so, uh. this is a message from donghae to hyukjae. it was part of a hidden track on the devil special album, where the suju members (except shindong and sungmin, who were enlisted at the time) sent messages to the next eldest member. technically, this means that donghae should've sent one to siwon, but that's a whole different thing. anyway: this is... a doozy. "as compared to saying i like you, i think saying i love you is more fitting." that's a direct quote.
